This printed leather takes its name from a town in south-east England that is famous for its horse races. Its fine, regular grain, obtained through machine-printing, has a striking, beautifully subtle dual tone.

First appeared in the collections: 2004

Appearance: Small, regular and slightly glossy grain; uniform; deep colors

Feel: Dry, with a slightly "up and down" grain

Hand: Round and firm

Change over time: Keeps its shape, scratch-resistant. The grain fades in areas exposed to a lot of contact or rubbing

    The pink toned hardware is what sold me. Against noir Epsom it looks almost jewellery like instead of the usual silver.

    Fits three folded notes, two cards in the slots, and the little zip pouch handles my coins. Anything more and the H stops snapping shut cleanly.

This replaced a bag I'd carried for six years and the difference in how it looks at the end of a day is silly. Epsom doesn't slouch, so a 25 sellier stays a neat rectangle even when I've overfilled it. It isn't forgiving though, nothing bulky is going in.
