This leather is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic Barenia. It features a minuscule printed grain that replicates a drummed grain, combining the patina of Barenia with a textured finish.

The story behind
A chance encounter on a flight between Paris and London in 1984 sparked the creation of the Birkin. Actress Jane Birkin complained to Jean-Louis Dumas, the Executive Chairman of Hermès, about her struggle to find a bag suitable for her needs as a young mother. Dumas immediately sketched a spacious, rectangular holdall with a burnished flap and saddle stitching, and the Birkin was born.

Barenia Faubourg is the leather I'd been curious about for years and it lives up to it. Fauve is a warm reddish tan that has already started to deepen where my hand rests on the handles. Gold hardware is the only correct choice here. It's a 25 so I'm not carrying much, but it goes everywhere with me anyway.

It marks easily and then the marks fade. Odd and lovely.
Came with just a dust bag and lock set. My only real complaint is that the nata base is going to show every scuff and on a printed bag you can't exact...More
