Introduced in 2019, Madame is a firm, contemporary leather with a very fine grain. It is a lightweight leather that holds structured shapes beautifully.

The story behind

A chance encounter on a flight between Paris and London in 1984 sparked the creation of the Birkin. Actress Jane Birkin complained to Jean-Louis Dumas, the Executive Chairman of Hermès, about her struggle to find a bag suitable for her needs as a young mother. Dumas immediately sketched a spacious, rectangular holdall with a burnished flap and saddle stitching, and the Birkin was born.

    Bronze dore is such a weird good colour. Reads brown in the shop and almost warm grey outside. Madame holds the sellier edges perfectly sharp.
