The story behind

Designed in 1923 for top drivers and long-distance travelers, this globe-trotting bag slips easily into any trunk. The zip fastener, brought back from America by Émile Hermès at the end of the 1910s, give it its legendary round-angled shape, and allow for quick access to the content. The Bolide bag comes in a travel bag and many-sized handbags.

    I was nervous about craie but the Epsom is what makes it possible, I've wiped two marks off already with a damp cloth. The zip going all the way over means dust doesn't get in either. 25 by 20 by 10 with the strap included, so it works as a shoulder bag when my arms are full. It stands up on its own every time.

Loaded it's heavy and my shoulder isn't the issue, it's the hand carry. I wear a coat with it so the handles don't dig. Older bag, 2014, and the Togo has softened into something quite slouchy at the sides which I prefer to new and stiff.
