Named in tribute to the daughter of the designer who introduced it into the collections, this leather was developed for luggage and is the ultimate example of a grained leather that has been drummed. This process softens the skin and brings a generous grain to the surface.

The story behind

Designed in 1923 for top drivers and long-distance travelers, this globe-trotting bag slips easily into any trunk. The zip fastener, brought back from America by Émile Hermès at the end of the 1910s, give it its legendary round-angled shape, and allow for quick access to the content. The Bolide bag comes in a travel bag and many-sized handbags.

    Ten years old and the Clemence has slouched at the sides but the base is still solid. 31 is my preferred size for this shape.

Palladium fittings are minimal on this shape which is part of why it works for daily use. Nothing shiny shouting at anyone. I bought it as an errands and airport bag and it has done exactly that for years, the handles have not stretched at all.
