The story behind

Designed in 1923 by Emil-Maurice Hermès for his wife, the Bolide was the first bag to feature a zip closure, inspired by the zips he saw on car hoods during a trip to Canada. It was designed as a travel bag for the modern era.

    I wanted something for evening that would not flop and this Epsom does not flop, ever. Wore it to a wedding on the strap all night and my shoulder was fine. Downside is the craie panel already picked up a faint mark from my jeans.
