Launched in 1967, the Constance bag - named after the creator’s daughter - gives its shape to the line of wallets revealing the ingenious H-shaped clasp: the central bar lifts up and releases the flap to open it.     The Elan proportion is what makes it, 25 across but only 14 tall so it sits like a line across your body rather than a lump. Epsom in gold has that slightly plasticky finish some people dislike and I quite like, it means I'm not worried about a bit of rain. The mirror in the box was a nice extra.

    5 deep is the catch. My phone fits lying flat but a bulky wallet is out, so I switched to a card case and got over it.
