Named after the African country, reflecting the "Africa" theme of the year it was created (1997). Togo is a grained leather made from baby calf skin. It is extremely popular due to its scratch resistance and ability to hold its shape.

Appearance: Matt finish, round, irregular grain; veins and wrinkles are often visible and pronounced

    The proportions are what people don't expect, it's taller than a Birkin rather than wider, so it looks like luggage more than a handbag. Etoupe Togo hides everything, dust, scuffs, the lot. Empty it is already heavy and loaded it is a two hands situation, so know that going in.

I never thought I would own one of these and part of me just wants to keep it in the box. Took it to a dinner in December and spent the whole night with it on my lap. Matte croc with palladium is very quiet for something this recognisable.

35 came back around and I'm glad because I always found 30 slightly mean for what I carry. This takes my laptop, a folder, a jumper and lunch and still shuts. Togo in gold is the classic and it hides everything. Heavy when full, so I don't fill it every day.
