This is a stiff, durable cowhide primarily used for structural trim on canvas bags like the Herbag and Kelly Lakis. It is unlined and shows the natural raw back of the leather.

The story behind
From the straps to the bell and the Clou de Selle clasp, the Herbag bag, composed of a canvas body and an unlined leather flap, highlights the Maison's signature details. Its volume is perfect and it contains numerous compartments: one for your laptop, a pocket for your phone and keys and a detachable pocket. Equipped with a strap attached to either end of the panel, the model is also available in a men's Messenger format that's worn across the body, or in a women's size 20 for carrying all your everyday essentials.

The canvas will get dirty. Mine has a couple of shadows on the base and I have made peace with that because it is the one I throw in the car without thinking. Vache hunter darkens with handling which I actually like.

Bamboo canvas is a yellow green that looks brighter outdoors than in. The vache hunter trim is a warm tan against it.

Bought this over the all leather version because the canvas keeps the weight down and I walk a lot. Two months in and there's a faint mark on the olive side from a coffee cup lid, which is my own fault, but light canvas is light canvas.
