Unlike other leathers, Epsom is an embossed leather, meaning its grain is pressed into the leather rather than being a natural feature. This gives it a rigid structure, making it highly scratch-resistant and easy to clean.

The story behind

Created in the 1930s, the Kelly bag was named in 1956 when Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco unveiled it to the world. Its shape and iconic details have since been adapted and redesigned to create small leather goods. Straps, claps, padlocks, leather bells and keys enhance wallets, coin purses or pouches that can be worn in many different ways.

    Sellier construction gives it the boxy stand up shape I wanted. It doesn't flop when I set it down, which the retourne version does.

    I asked for etoupe specifically because I already have a black bag and wanted something I didn't have to think about. Gold hardware was the gamble. It reads warmer against the grey brown than palladium would and now I'd pick it again. Fits my phone, a slim wallet, glasses case and a compact with room over.
