The story behind

Created in the 1930s, the Kelly bag was named in 1956 when Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco unveiled it to the world. Its shape and iconic details have since been adapted and redesigned to create small leather goods. Straps, claps, padlocks, leather bells and keys enhance wallets, coin purses or pouches that can be worn in many different ways.

Sellier Box calf is the most formal version of this bag and it shows. It goes to weddings and dinners and looks slightly out of place at a supermarket. The 25 came with the strap so I can go across the body, though I rarely do because the leather rubs against coat buttons and I panic.

Box scratches if you look at it. Seventeen years of patina means mine is soft and slightly hazy in places. I like it.

Box calf in noir has that glass shine nothing else does. Mine has picked up fine scratches which just makes it look older and better.
