These are the most precious and exclusive exotic leathers used by Hermès. Porosus crocodile and Niloticus crocodile feature symmetrical scales and come in shiny (Lisse) or matte finishes. Alligator comes from the Mississippi river and is renowned for its larger scales and intense color depth.

Change over time: Develops a deep patina; shiny finish softens, while matte finish acquires a subtle glow

The story behind

Created in the 1930s, the Kelly bag was named in 1956 when Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco unveiled it to the world. Its shape and iconic details have since been adapted and redesigned to create small leather goods. Straps, claps, padlocks, leather bells and keys enhance wallets, coin purses or pouches that can be worn in many different ways.

    28 is my size. Fits a slim laptop, a pouch, glasses and a bottle standing up in the 10 depth, and it still closes properly.

    Been carrying it two years now and the beton panel has warmed up a shade, which I only notice next to the photos from when it arrived. Sent it in once...More
    Been carrying it two years now and the beton panel has warmed up a shade, which I only notice next to the photos from when it arrived. Sent it in once for a clasp adjustment and it came back sitting properly. Matte croc is more forgiving day to day than people say.

    The beton against the noir is subtler than I thought, in low light it just reads dark. Bright day is when the contrast shows up.
