These are the most precious and exclusive exotic leathers used by Hermès. Porosus crocodile and Niloticus crocodile feature symmetrical scales and come in shiny (Lisse) or matte finishes. Alligator comes from the Mississippi river and is renowned for its larger scales and intense color depth.

The story behind

Created in the 1930s, the Kelly bag was named in 1956 when Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco unveiled it to the world. Its shape and iconic details have since been adapted and redesigned to create small leather goods. Straps, claps, padlocks, leather bells and keys enhance wallets, coin purses or pouches that can be worn in many different ways.

I do baby it. Shiny croc scares me in the rain so it only comes out on dry days, which is maybe half the year where I live.

Took it to a family wedding in Italy in September and it survived a car boot, a marquee and a very long dinner. The gold clasp picked up a couple of hairline marks and the scales are fine. I was more relaxed about it than I expected to be.
