The story behind

Originally created in the 1930s by Robert Dumas as a 'Sac à dépêches', the bag achieved legendary status in 1956 when Grace Kelly, the Princess of Monaco, used it to shield her pregnancy from paparazzi. Hermès subsequently renamed the bag the 'Kelly'.

    A base insert came with it which I did not know was a thing and it does help the bottom keep its shape. Evercolor is light so I barely notice the weight. Downside is it is soft enough to collapse when empty and finding my keys means feeling around.

    Gris Perle in Evercolor has a light sheen that stops it looking flat. The gold hardware warms the grey up.
