Unlike other leathers, Epsom is an embossed leather, meaning its grain is pressed into the leather rather than being a natural feature. This gives it a rigid structure, making it highly scratch-resistant and easy to clean.

The story behind

Designed in 1923 by Emil-Maurice Hermès for his wife, the Bolide was the first bag to feature a zip closure, inspired by the zips he saw on car hoods during a trip to Canada. It was designed as a travel bag for the modern era.
