Originally tanned near the village of Barr in Alsace, Barenia is an iconic Hermès heritage leather. It is a "living" leather that absorbs light scratches and develops a beautiful dark patina over time.

The story behind

Created in the 1930s, the Kelly bag was named in 1956 when Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco unveiled it to the world. Its shape and iconic details have since been adapted and redesigned to create small leather goods. Straps, claps, padlocks, leather bells and keys enhance wallets, coin purses or pouches that can be worn in many different ways.

The canvas body keeps the weight down which at 28 makes a real difference over a full leather Kelly. The trade off is that the toile marks and there is no undoing that, mine has a shadow along the base already. Came with the dustbag, strap and lock set and nothing else.
