Named after Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels, to highlight its resemblance to the now-discontinued Gulliver calfskin. Swift is a fine, semi-smooth leather that absorbs dye beautifully, resulting in radiant colors.

The story behind

Originally created in the 1930s by Robert Dumas as a 'Sac à dépêches', the bag achieved legendary status in 1956 when Grace Kelly, the Princess of Monaco, used it to shield her pregnancy from paparazzi. Hermès subsequently renamed the bag the 'Kelly'.

    Limited editions are a gamble because in five years you either still love the joke or you do not. I think this one lasts. The two vert tones are close enough that from a distance it reads as one dark green, and up close you see the split. Palladium keeps it cool.

Bleu paradis with bougainvillea is a special order combination I would not have been brave enough to design myself, but someone was and I'm grateful. The brushed gold is the detail that makes it, matte rather than shiny so it doesn't fight with the blue. Epsom holds everything sharp, which this pairing needs or it would look chaotic.
