Named in tribute to the daughter of the designer who introduced it into the collections, this leather was developed for luggage and is the ultimate example of a grained leather that has been drummed. This process softens the skin and brings a generous grain to the surface.

First appeared in the collections: 1992

Appearance: Semi-matt, generous and irregular grain

The story behind

Designed in 1978 by Evelyne Bertrand, then head of the Hermès equestrian department, the bag was originally created to carry horse grooming tools. The perforated 'H' logo was designed to allow the tools to dry quickly.

    This is the third etoupe thing I've bought and I have stopped pretending I'll branch out. On the mini 16 it's a phone, a card case, a key and a lip balm and nothing more at 5.5 deep. Gold hardware rather than palladium was the only decision I actually made.
