Named in tribute to the daughter of the designer who introduced it into the collections, this leather was developed for luggage and is the ultimate example of a grained leather that has been drummed. This process softens the skin and brings a generous grain to the surface.

The story behind
Designed in 1978 by Evelyne Bertrand, then head of the Hermès equestrian department, the bag was originally created to carry horse grooming tools. The perforated 'H' logo was designed to allow the tools to dry quickly.

Came with the box, dustbag and receipt. Only gripe is the back of the bag rubs against my coat and the Clemence has picked up a slight shine there. Still wear it three times a week.

Feu is a proper orange, more tomato than the Hermès box orange. In Clemence it's gone matte and soft already.

The perforated H on the back is the whole point. Hands free and I don't think about it.

Sellier in Epsom means the whole thing is architectural. Corners are sharp, nothing sags, and after eight years mine still stands up on its own. The two greys are close enough that you only notice the contrast up close. Rain cover and strap came with it, no box though.
