The story behind

Created in the 1930s, the Kelly bag was named in 1956 when Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco unveiled it to the world. Its shape and iconic details have since been adapted and redesigned to create small leather goods. Straps, claps, padlocks, leather bells and keys enhance wallets, coin purses or pouches that can be worn in many different ways.

Shiny alligator in a deep cypress green with gold hardware is the loudest quiet bag I own. In daylight the scales flash and the green goes almost teal at the edges. Indoors it looks nearly black. I bought it for a milestone birthday and it has not left my mind since.

Gold hardware against dark green is very rich. Palladium would have been the safer choice and I am glad I did not take it.
