Made from goatskin, Chevre Mysore is lightweight, highly resistant to scratches, and features a fine, distinct grain that is soft to the touch.

Appearance: Lightly grained with a subtle sheen

Change over time: Becomes softer and develops a satiny shine

The story behind

A chance encounter on a flight between Paris and London in 1984 sparked the creation of the Birkin. Actress Jane Birkin complained to Jean-Louis Dumas, the Executive Chairman of Hermès, about her struggle to find a bag suitable for her needs as a young mother. Dumas immediately sketched a spacious, rectangular holdall with a burnished flap and saddle stitching, and the Birkin was born.

    Brushed palladium is softer looking than the regular shiny kind and it doesn't scream. That was the whole reason I asked for it.

    It took a long time and I checked in more than I should have, and then the call came on a random Thursday. Chevre in this blue is deeper than the swatch suggested. Rain cover was included which I appreciated. Only note is that Chevre scratches show as pale lines, so be careful with rings.

    Chevre has that fine grain with a bit of shine and it's much lighter than Togo. Holds its shape better too.
