The story behind

A chance encounter on a flight between Paris and London in 1984 sparked the creation of the Birkin. Actress Jane Birkin complained to Jean-Louis Dumas, the Executive Chairman of Hermès, about her struggle to find a bag suitable for her needs as a young mother. Dumas immediately sketched a spacious, rectangular holdall with a burnished flap and saddle stitching, and the Birkin was born.

This came from 2017 and someone thought very hard about it. Azalee with the orange is a proper piece of colour theory. It arrived with the box, rain cover, lock set and a copy of the receipt. Only complaint is that Epsom at 30 is heavy once you fill it.
