The story behind

Created in the 1930s, the Kelly bag was named in 1956 when Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco unveiled it to the world. Its shape and iconic details have since been adapted and redesigned to create small leather goods. Straps, claps, padlocks, leather bells and keys enhance wallets, coin purses or pouches that can be worn in many different ways.

Waited a long time for this one and the call came while I was sitting in a dentist chair. Noir with gris perle in matte alligator, exactly what I asked for. The strap makes it wearable across the body so it is not purely decorative, though 5.5 of depth means I still bring a tote.

The gris perle panels catch light and the noir absorbs it, so depending on the angle it reads as one colour or two. Matte alligator on a mini Kelly is already a lot and the special order combination makes it slightly ridiculous. Everything came with it including the cites certificate and the booklet.
