This printed leather takes its name from a town in south-east England that is famous for its horse races. Its fine, regular grain, obtained through machine-printing, has a striking, beautifully subtle dual tone.

First appeared in the collections: 2004

Appearance: Small, regular and slightly glossy grain; uniform; deep colors

Feel: Dry, with a slightly "up and down" grain

Hand: Round and firm

Change over time: Keeps its shape, scratch-resistant. The grain fades in areas exposed to a lot of contact or rubbing

The story behind

A tribute to drawing, the theme of 2025, the Pencilver bag accessory is a lacquered wooden pencil with silver lead combining the expertise of leather goods and goldsmithing. It comes with an exclusive leather-wrapped notebook, Rouge H. Each time it makes contact with the special paper, a thin layer of metal is deposited and oxidizes in the air, tracing letters or a sketch. You can write endlessly, as this lead lasts forever. And for an elegant touch? The delicately laced leather strap lets you tie it to a handle and draw at any moment.

    I bought it as a curiosity and now the notebook lives in my bag with it. Silverpoint is a strange old technique and the lines come out faint and silvery. Whether you use it or not, a wooden pencil wrapped in three different leathers is a lovely object.
